Have you ever made Jewelry with Gemstone Beads? You may have seen various kinds of jewelry like handmade jewelry, gold, silver jewelry, metal, diamond jewelry, fashion jewelry, body jewelry, sterling silver and gemstone jewelry. But have u ever thought that how can u make your own jewelry using gemstone beads like semi precious beads and precious beads.
You can make beautiful earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, pendants and many more to gift your loved once. You can also wear on various occasions and daily life as well. Natural Gemstone beads are long lasting and look beautiful.
You can create a different jewelry piece, or two, to go with every outfit. Making gemstone jewelry isn’t difficult, and designing each piece can be a lot of fun. Here’s how to make gemstone jewelry.
Create your own design- Before threading a single bead, choose the best pattern and kind of beads you need. Create a beautiful design. If you don’t have a beading board, use a small terry-cloth towel to keep the beads from rolling away. After laying out the pattern, make any final changes or adjustments.
Attach half of the jewelry clasp – Tie one half of the clasp onto the end of the beading thread. A regular double or triple knot will do. After tying the knot, put a small dot of glue or clear fingernail polish on the knot. Once the glue or nail polish has dried, use beading scissors or nail clippers to cut off the loose end as close to the knot as possible.
Thread the beads - Slide all of the gemstone beads that you set out in a pattern as above onto the beading thread using the attached needle. Once all the beads are on the thread, hold the strand up with the clasp that is already attached at the bottom. Let the beads naturally fall against each other so there are no gaps between them.
Connect the other half of the buckle- This is the hardest part of making gemstone jewelry. The thread must be pulled the knot tight and snug against the last bead to avoid any gaps. To do this, slide the clip to the thread and make a very loose knot at the base of the buckle. Put the bead knotting tool or a large pin through the center of the knot loose. Not tighten the knot carefully the work of the node to the heel so that the knotting tool or pin is comfortable against the last bead.
Lift the thread up and make sure that there are gaps. Pull the thread tight to the beads, but don’t allow the knot to tighten again. Without releasing the tension on the wire through the beads, lay the thread down and start to tighten the knot while maintaining pin comfortable against the last bead. (This process is similar to tie a knot on a package with a finger to keep the knot tight. In this case, the pin is serving the same purpose as the finger on the package.) Continue pulling the thread until the knot is tight without gaps. Gently remove the pin or push the issue on the bead knotting tool. Place a small dot of glue or clear nail polish on the node. After the glue or nail polish is dry, use scissors or nail clippers to cut the beading free end close to the knot as possible.

Gemstones it’s a kind of magic-Gemstones astrology

The all pervasive influence of extraneous forces is felt by everything on this earth. Nothing can escape their positive or negative effect. The planets in the solar system give out radiations or emissions which influence living beings. Humans too are affected by the emission from planets so it’s very important to maintain the harmony is maintained among all planetary factors for the general well being of human beings. This harmony and stability can be achieved by gemstones. These gemstones offset the negative planetary influences and enhance the positive vibes which help the person to reach his maximum growth on personal and professional front. The astrological calculations done from the birth chart of the concerned person reveals the favorable or the advantageous planet of that person. This protective planet creates an aura around the person and protects him from adverse influences.
A detailed and the thorough study of the astrological chart help to find out the following:
1. The ruling planet of your birth chart.
2. The favorable color
3. Gemstone/ alternate gemstone to be worn on the particular finger.
4. The beneficial metal
5. Auspicious date and month to wear the gemstone
6. The most influenced body organ and chakra.
7. The shloka to be recited.
It is of utmost importance that the horoscope is studied very carefully. The person suggesting the gemstone meticulously and precisely establishes the favorable gemstone. This gemstone will enhance the positive energy of the ruling planet and obscure its negative influence. The correct weight of the gemstone should be established for its maximum advantage. If it is too light then it will not be influential enough and if it is too heavy, it will create stress on the wearer.

Gemstones for Jewelry
by admin on Jun.24, 2010, under gemstones articles
A huge variety of minerals — 200 or more — have been used as gemstones at one time or another. But not all of these are suitable as jewelry gemstones, since many are too soft, too brittle or are too easily damaged by environmental conditions. Some gemstones are best reserved for collectors rather than jewelry.
Jewelry gemstones have varying requirements depending on the type of jewelry. Gemstones set in rings get the hardest wear, since they often come in contact with hard surfaces. Gems set in earrings are less subject to daily wear and tear, and the same is true for pendants.
It is generally recommended that colored gemstones set in rings have a hardness on the Mohs scale of 7 or greater. Rings worn everyday, such as engagement rings, are usually made with stones such as ruby and sapphire, which have a hardness rating of 9. Rings worn only occasionally, or set in protective settings such as bezels, can be made with softer stones. Some very popular gems, such as tanzanite (hardness of 6.5 to 7) and opal (5.5 to 6.5), are often set in rings, though neither are particularly hard.
However, hardness is not the only measure of a gem’s suitability for jewelry. Some gems which are quite hard, such as emerald (hardness of 8), have internal fractures which make them more fragile. Nephrite jade, by contrast, is extremely durable, despite having a hardness of 6 to 6.5; its strength is due to its internal structure, where fibrous crystals interlock in a matted texture.
Despite these practical constraints, the variety of gemstones used in jewelry is actually increasing, as jewelry designers seek out rarer gemstones for making distinctive jewelry. Gems such as prehnite and andalusite were once rarely found in jewelry; today one will also find apatite, mali garnet, charoite and seraphinite used as jewelry gemstones for their unique colors and textures.
At one time the choice in jewelry gemstones was restricted by what was available in mass-produced jewelry. Now it is possible to select from a vast range of gemstones carried by a dealer who specializes in colored gems, and have custom jewelry created by the jeweler of your choice.

Best Value Gemstones

One question we hear frequently from prospective buyers is, “What are the best values in natural gemstones in today’s market?”.
Prices on gemstones go up and down depending on supply and demand, but generally they go up over time, sometimes dramatically. Give general pricing trends, virtually every gemstone variety is a good value today, since they are all likely to be more expensive next year. But the buyer asking the question has, it seems, something else in mind. He wants to know, as the Americans say, how do you get “the most bang for the buck.”
Since beauty is to some considerable degree in the eye of the beholder, we wouldn’t presume to tell you what the most beautiful gemstone is for your money. But we can tell you which stones have the best gemstone characteristics based on their per carat price. And that seems to us to be a reasonable way of defining gemstone value.
Good gemstone characteristics, in our view, include superior hardness (greater than 7 on the Mohs scale), durability (absence of cleavage), very good transparency and clarity, and interesting colors. Absence of any sort of gem treatment would be would be a definite plus as well.
Since there are not that many gem varieties with a hardness greater than 7, it didn’t take us too long to put together a short list of the best gemstone values. We didn’t try to rank them, or say which is “best”; we think the short list is information enough for prospective buyers who want to make sure they are considering the right options in the market. Here is our short list:
Sapphire
With a harndess of 9 on the Mohs scale and no cleavage, sapphire is an superb gem for everyday wear. Sapphire has a high refractive index, so it has excellent brilliance. It is available in a good choice of colors, though blue is the perennial favorite. Most sapphire has been heat-treated.
Spessartite Garnet
Spessartite is one of the premium garnets, with a brilliant orange to orange-red color. With a hardness of 7.5 and indistinct cleavage, it is durable gem suitable for all kinds of jewelry. It is almost always untreated.
Spinel
Spinel is ranked right below sapphire for hardness, with a rating of 8 on the Mohs scale. Spinel has both excellent brilliance and impressive disperion or fire, especially in the lighter colors. You will find spinel in a wide range of colors, including red, pink, orange, violet and blue. Unlike sapphire, spinel is always untreated.
Tourmaline
Tourmaline has the widest range of colors of any gemstone, including many multicolor specimens such as the well-known watermelon tourmaline. It has good hardness of 7 to 7.5, and an attractive vitreous luster. Of all the gems on this list, tourmaline is the affordable in larger sizes.

Are Gemstone Meanings Real?

Are Gemstone Meanings Real?
Since the dawn of history, man has been deeply interested in gemstones and has viewed them as having supernatural properties. Why are we so enthralled by them? Perhaps it’s their deep, intense, concentrated color, that suggests a highly concentrated mass of nature’s energy. Our subconscious mind processes many kinds of subtle information that we are unaware of, and for some reason man has always, seen gemstones as a portal to a greater, infinite power and wisdom.
So are they really a doorway to a higher power, or do we just enjoy imagining that? This is something we can’t likely argue logically or prove, because energy doesn’t always flow in predictable ways. But in any case, I think that even if they don’t hold any unseen powers, it’s still possible for them to have a big impact on us. How so, you ask?Through their symbolism that represents our hopes and ambitions in life.
Here is what I mean. I am a business owner, and at the time when I was preparing for the business’s launch my partner gave me a gift, a tiger’s eye gemstone. Tiger eye gems are believed to help you achieve your goalsand deliver wealth and success to you. Every day I would stare at the gem, focused on it, vividly pictured the outcomes I desired, and got to work with lazer sharp focus. Did the gemstone do it, or did I do it? I lean towards thinking that I caused it, but symbols do carry extraodinary inspirational power, as students of religions and faiths know. I could be skeptical and disbelieve in gemstones as meaningful, but whether they are directly influencing my behaviour or not, I appreciate their symbolic meaning and the inspiration they provide anyway.
Gemstone collecting is a very rewarding hobby to take up, because the endless variety of gemstones with differing meanings offers us the chance to choose gems that reflect our values. When I look into which gemstones to buy, I think about my life and my current physical, mental and spiritual state, and I choose gems that will help me acheive my current goals. If I am feeling trapped by jealous and envious feelings, maybe I’ll buy a peridot piece, because peridot is thought to get rid of feelings of jealousy, anger, and rivalry. Even if the peridot happened to be a fake one and not real, I am sure I would still move in a direction away from jealousy because buying the stone was an expression of my commitment to change that element of my life.
Gemstones might not have the power to control humans, but they do draw of human beings’ intrinsic power. I believe that there value lies in that ability, and it is a positive thing. We wouldn’t appreciate change in our lives if they weren’t the results of our own struggle, so it is good that gems only provide us with the inspiration but we have to do the rest.
